Project Manager Design & Construction
Woodbine Development Corp., Dallas, TX
1997-1998
I joined Woodbine Development in Dallas, Texas after completing an AmeriSuites Hotel in Austin, Texas. I was referred to Woodbine by the General Contractor for the AmeriSuites project who was also the General Contractor for Westin La Cantera. My first assignment for Woodbine was to joint he project management team at Westin La Cantera, a 500-room resort hotel adjacent to Six-Flags San Antonio. The project was a joint venture between Woodbine Development and USAA. The project was approximately 50% complete with construction at that time I joined. My initial role was to oversee special systems (IT infrastructure), food-service equipment and kitchen areas and FF&E procurement. The project was behind schedule and I was made the overall project manager after a few months. We were able to complete the project and opene in time for the summer high season.
